Why is my yield guarantee in nanomoles and not ODs?

IDT changed the unit of measure for our custom DNA and RNA products from OD260 to nanomoles in December 2019. This decision was made to maintain consistency across our product portfolio and to more clearly communicate yield guarantees to our customers. Since our customers typically use oligos in units of molar concentration or weight, providing yield guarantees in nanomole amounts will simplify use of our products and improve the predictability of final yield for each unique oligo.

As you are accustomed, the yield guarantees are the minimum amount you will receive; IDT will still deliver full synthesis yield for the custom DNA and RNA products. Our synthesis and QC processes will remain the same to ensure you continue to receive high quality product.

The minimum yield guarantees can be found in your shopping cart, as well as quotations and order confirmations. The final yield specifications are shown on tube labels and specification documents.
